Alyce worked with my daughter, Sophia, to create a unique choreographed piece for her college applications and in person company auditions, which is pretty stressful for young dancers. As a parent going through this for the first time, it was a bit stressful for me as well. However, working with Alyce was a joy!
Alyce is exceptionally skilled and has an intricate understanding of movement. She has the gift of seeing a dancer’s potential and building their confidence to express themself fully. With her thoughtfulness and patience she took the time to understand my daughter’s body, natural style and abilities and created a beautiful piece distinctly for her. Alyce’s enthusiasm and encouragement along with constructive corrections throughout the process made the whole experience incredibly rewarding. Sophia looked forward to every class and was disappointed when it was all over! As Sophia moves through this world of dance, I know she is definitely looking forward to working with Alyce in the future.

I have had the pleasure of working with Alyce and seeing her perform many times. She is an amazing yoga teacher, dancer, choreographer, and coach. I did a wonderful workshop with her that was the perfect blend of yoga, meditation, and goal-setting. She is truly a gift to our community!

We had the pleasure of working with Alyce to choreograph our wedding first dance, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From our very first meeting, Alyce demonstrated incredible creativity, patience, and expertise. She crafted a beautiful routine that perfectly matched our vision and helped us feel confident on the dance floor. Her personalized approach and supportive guidance made each rehearsal both enjoyable and productive. Thanks to Alyce, our first dance was a highlight of our wedding, that received countless compliments from all our guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better choreographer and highly recommend her services to anyone looking to create a memorable dance experience. Thank you, Alyce, for making our special day truly unforgettable!

As one of Alyce’s regular yoga students, I always appreciated her creative sequencing and messaging… but it was later, shortly after I lost my husband, when I traveled with her to Costa Rica that I came to know her generous and compassionate spirit.  Even as she tended to the needs of the others in our group, Alyce graciously gave me space in which to heal.  I am truly grateful.”

Alyce is really listening when I speak, and often repeats back for clarity before responding to be sure we are clear. I appreciate the way she offers ideas, and will ask if she may before doing so. It makes me feel at ease and keeps me centered when I start to feel like I am grasping for words to drill down my train of thought. Generous listening is a skill that I think people have to practice and I feel like Alyce is a natural. I love the way she helps shift a thought process in a more positive light so we can see the silver lining and opportunities to create something more positive.

When I think of Alyce, my heart immediately swells with gratitude! She has led me, she has walked beside me, and she has had my back when I needed extra support navigating uncertain times. Through her yoga instruction, her coaching with Lightyear Leadership, and her retreats, she brings community together for connection. Alyce is a visionary, and she leads with compassion, love, intuition, and grace. She has impacted my life through yoga and meditation, coaching, and our travels on such a powerful level. For this I will forever be grateful!

I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1979 and moved to the United States when I was only 5. Sadly I did not retain any memory of my first five years in this amazing country. Luckily, Alyce subbed a class that I normally attended and mentioned the Discover Your Pura Vida retreat. I knew in my gut I had to sign up. When we landed in San Jose and I stepped on solid ground, I knew I was back home. It flooded over me like a waterfall. I feel so much gratitude and love towards Alyce and Ian for bringing me back to my home country and giving me the opportunity to experience new adventures with wonderful people. To this day, I feel more connected to Alyce, Ian and my Costa Rica travel buddy Bethany than most people in my life due to this trip.
I cannot stress enough - sign up for this trip! It will change your life! xoxo

“The experience exceeded my wildest expectations. The balance between high adventure, terrifying (hello waterfall rappelling) experiences and restorative, relaxing (love that yoga gazebo) time spent was just right. I appreciated having a balanced schedule of a wide range of activities and eating experiences, along with not having to be concerned about how to get there.  Kokoro was lovely...and was the ideal spot to be able to relax. Food was terrific, fresh and I never tired of it.

There's something special about being able to connect to a place and especially with people who you can return home with and continue the adventure. Ian and Alyce have developed an extraordinary week where people can fill their cup emotionally, physically and spiritually. These two special people with their intention and love bring out the best of a group. Their encouragement and willingness to help you as an individual, too, cannot be underestimated. Everyone was wholly accepted where they were, whether that be traveling alone, as a couple, as an older individual, one with little experience in yoga or the yoga-trained person. I valued that...and they are treasures and goes beyond our yoga practice during this retreat.

My worry was that I was going to be left behind or pushed to the point of getting angry or scared...maybe shamed for not being able to participate. NONE of that happened. In fact, the contrary occurred and I was the recipient of many gifts.  I learned more about acceptance and see myself embracing it in my everyday life.

Thank you for helping some people 'fill in the blanks' about free time. Especially circling in those who were interested in the Hot River. I don't know if we would have been able to figure that out on our own, and we loved it!

Thank you so much for everything!”
